    WELCOME TO OUR TEAM

CANCELLED
Our 2021 Season of Practices and Regattas

With regret, BreastStrokes has decided to cancel the
2021 dragon boat season for our team.

After monitoring closely the COVID-19 developments,
acknowledging the need to continue maintaining social distancing
as well as preventing any situations that will put our
members' health and safety at risk,
the decision was finalized and
notifications sent to team members on April 5, 2021.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year in 2022.
Watch for further announcements.

PADDLES UP!

It is with great pride that we introduce ourselves to you –
The BreastStrokes Dragon Boat Team.

Our team consists of energetic, motivated, forward thinking women who have all experienced breast cancer first-hand. We paddle to support each other and to stay strong.

The BreastStrokes Dragon Boat Team formed in Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1998. From early days using broomsticks to paddle in a (dry) church basement, the team now has our own dragon boat moored on local lakes. The BreastStrokes team works hard to promote awareness of health, life and laughter after breast cancer.

We celebrate life through the pursuit of fitness and wellness, mutual support, community philanthropy, and competition in Dragon Boat Festival races. We believe any person with breast cancer who wishes to dragon boat paddle should have that opportunity, because together, we are all winners! Our goal is to honour the memory of those who have died of breast cancer and spread a message of hope to all people living life after a breast cancer diagnosis.

We are a breast cancer survivor team,
but we welcome Supporter (non-breast cancer survivor) Paddlers as well.
There is no fitness test to join, however,
if you are a breast cancer survivor,
you need to have finished treatment before starting to paddle.
Please get in touch with any questions.

Photo from our 2019 Meet & Greet event: Team BreastStrokes was there in a blaze of red, meeting & greeting prospective new team members. We had a great turnout, and welcomed a group of new paddlers at their first practice in June 2019.
We still have room in the boat for YOU!
Get in touch to get started. PADDLES UP!
